Keeping Your Pet Well
Pet wellness care involves different services that not only treat illness but protect against future threats. At Pine Castle Animal Care Center, we believe in taking preventative measures to keep your pet safe from disease and infection to help them live a longer, happier life.
If we’re seeing your pet for the first time, we can use the wellness visit to establish a baseline for their health. Wellness visits are also the best time for you to ask us any questions you have about your pet, so we can address their problems before they progress.
Wellness Care Services We Offer
We generally begin a wellness visit with a thorough “nose to tail” exam of your pet, but we offer many of other services, including:
- Diagnostic exams
- In-house diagnostic testing
- Senior pet care
- Nutritional counseling
- Behavioral counseling
- And more
We offer a variety of vaccines here at our animal hospital, though not all of them are required. Our inventory of vaccines includes:
- DHPPC (distemper 5-in-1)
- Bordetella (kennel cough)
- FVRCP (feline distemper)
- FeLV (feline leukemia)
Core vs. Non-Core Vaccines
Rabies and distemper vaccines are core vaccines. They are vital to keeping your pet safe and healthy. Non-core vaccines such as Bordetella, leptospirosis, and feline leukemia are given based on your pet’s risk of exposure. Lifestyle factors such as size, travel, and being around other animals will determine your pet’s vaccine requirements.
