Pinpointing Problems with Diagnostics

Your cat won’t stop vomiting. Your dog is lethargic, but their routine exam showed nothing out of the ordinary. What’s the next step? At Pine Castle Animal Care Center, you have several different options to move forward, all of which fall under the umbrella of diagnostics. Using diagnostics allows us to go below the surface and study your pet’s internal body structure for any abnormal signs.

Our Diagnostics Services

We offer a variety of diagnostic options to get to the bottom of your pet’s illness or discomfort. These include:

  • Blood testing
  • Fecal testing
  • Urinalysis (urine testing)
  • EKG (electrocardiogram)
  • Digital X-rays
  • Ultrasound

With our in-house testing laboratory, we can run various blood tests to check liver and kidney function, white blood cell count, thyroid, and more. For more complex cases, we can refer your pet’s blood sample to an outside specialist, and obtain results within 24 hours. Our digital X-ray machine can help us identify problems such as tumors, bone fractures, or the presence of a foreign body. We can also use our mobile ultrasound unit for more detailed imaging that can reveal abnormalities on the surface of your pet’s internal organs.

Reliable Testing When Your Pet Needs It Most

While most diagnostic testing can be performed during a routine appointment, pets may also require a combination of tests that can take more time. Our caring staff members always maintain contact with owners while their pet is staying with us for testing. We want our patients to be as comfortable as possible in our facility, and for their owners to have peace of mind.

If you have any questions or need testing for your pet, call 407-855-5010 to schedule an appointment. Your pet’s well-being is our greatest concern, and we will do everything we can to get them feeling like themselves again.
